The main function of the excavator engine gasket is to fill the microscopic gaps between the cylinder block and cylinder head, ensuring a good seal at the mating surface, thereby ensuring the sealing of the combustion chamber, preventing cylinder air leaks and water jacket leaks, and preventing coolant and engine oil from leaking from the engine body to the cylinder head.

The excavator engine gasket ensures sealing performance by filling the tiny gaps between the cylinder block and cylinder head, which is its core function. This sealing performance is crucial for the normal operation of the engine, as the engine operates in high-temperature, high-pressure, high-explosion rate, and high-power environments, with various media such as lubricating oil, antifreeze, and gas flowing through it. If the sealing performance is poor, it may lead to cylinder air leaks, water jacket leaks, and leaks of coolant and engine oil from the engine body to the cylinder head, all of which can affect the engine’s performance and lifespan.

In addition, the excavator engine gasket also prevents oil, water, air, and electrical leaks between mating surfaces of components, as well as providing fastening and anti-loosening functions. These functions together ensure the stable operation and safe use of the engine.

The principle of gasket sealing is achieved by applying external force to compress the gasket, causing it to undergo elastic or plastic deformation to fill the microscopic irregularities on the sealing surface. This sealing method utilizes the contact pressure on the sealing surface, making the resistance of the medium passing through the sealing surface greater than the pressure difference of the medium on both sides of the sealing surface, thereby achieving the sealing effect.
