The excavator quick coupler, also known as a quick-change connector or quick coupling head, allows for the rapid installation and switching of various attachments on the excavator, such as buckets, loosening devices, hydraulic breakers, and hydraulic shears. This functionality expands the range of applications for the excavator, saves time, and improves work efficiency. These connectors are generally divided into two types: mechanical and hydraulic. Mechanical quick couplers do not require modifications to the excavator’s piping and hydraulic system, while hydraulic quick couplers necessitate alterations to the excavator’s piping and hydraulic system to achieve automatic switching of work attachments.

Hydraulic quick couplers control the length of the stroke through hydraulic cylinders, allowing for stepless adjustment of their clamping and releasing functions. This type of quick coupler is efficient, practical, and convenient to use, as operators do not need to leave the cab; they can directly control the quick coupler through a pilot valve to change attachments.
