Working principle of thrust collar
The working principle of the excavator thrust collar is based on the preload force of the coil spring. The thrust collar usually consists of an inner ring that fits into a part on the shaft and an outer ring that contacts the machine housing. Between the inner and outer rings are a series of helical springs that generate a preload force that keeps the inner and outer rings in contact with each other, thus realizing the restriction of axial movement. When an axial force is applied to the outer ring, the outer ring transmits the force to the inner ring through the helical springs. Due to the high stiffness of the helical springs, the distance between the inner and outer rings remains relatively constant, thus realizing the restriction of axial movement.
