The main function of the excavator’s external filter is to filter out impurities and dust, preventing them from entering the engine or hydraulic system, thus protecting the normal operation of the engine and hydraulic system.
The excavator’s external filter includes air filters, diesel filters, and oil filters, each of which performs different filtering tasks. Specifically:
Air filter: Its main function is to provide clean air to the engine, preventing the engine from inhaling air with impurity particles during operation, thereby reducing the risk of wear and damage.
Diesel filter: Its function is to remove water and mechanical impurities from the diesel, including removing a small amount of water vapor in the diesel tank and mechanical impurities in the diesel, ensuring the purity of the diesel, reducing the risk of injector failure, and extending the engine’s lifespan.
Oil filter: Its function is to remove impurities such as dust, metal particles, carbon deposits, and soot particles from the oil, protecting the engine. Oil is known as the “blood” of the engine, providing lubrication, cleaning, cooling, sealing, reducing wear, rust prevention, and corrosion protection for the engine. The oil filter ensures the purity of the oil, providing necessary protection for the engine.
If these external filters are not replaced in a timely manner, too many impurities will accumulate, the oil will not be filtered properly, and the oil passage may become blocked, leading to excavator wear and affecting normal operation. Therefore, regularly replacing and maintaining these external filters is key to ensuring the normal operation of the excavator.
